Project Overview
We executed a high-impact travel short film for Vuori’s TRVL Journal episodic series in Tofino, BC, capturing the region’s raw beauty, adventure, and deep community ties through boats, planes, and remote landscapes
THE CHALLENGE
Vuori was looking for another high-performing story and destination to highlight in their TRVL Journal series—one that would showcase adventure, connection, and the natural beauty of a unique location. With only two weeks’ notice, we had to move quickly to organize an international production in Tofino, BC, ensuring a tight turnaround for go-live. The challenge was not only in crafting an authentic, compelling narrative but also in navigating the complexities of remote shooting, international logistics, and capturing the essence of Tofino within a limited timeframe.
THE APPROACH
We built a fast-moving production plan that prioritized efficiency while maintaining the high creative standards Vuori expected. Casting experienced individuals who have traveled to Tofino in the past with their own personal connections to the area, we structured the story around key local figures, ensuring we captured the true spirit of Tofino. From coordinating with Shelter Restaurant’s Head Chef Matheus Cunha to securing access to wildlife and surf photographer Kyler Voss and pilot Jay Burton, we embedded ourselves into the local community. The production plan accounted for fast-changing weather, remote locations, and seamless transitions between land, sea, and air—using seaplanes, boats, and more to capture the full scope of the environment.
THE SOLUTION
Executing this production in Tofino required extensive logistical coordination across boats, planes, tides, and unpredictable coastal weather. With an international crew and tight shooting windows, we meticulously planned each segment, ensuring seamless transitions between remote locations. Managing transport via seaplanes and boats, we captured the interplay of work and play in Tofino’s unique environment, all while adapting to shifting conditions. The episode and product cutdowns authentically reflected Vuori’s TRVL ethos, with breathtaking visuals and an immersive narrative that resonated with their audience across digital and social platforms.
